I got published in a BIG local newspaper again :). At least this is some happy news in my life. Oh and my poem is #2 on the "Most Popular" list for about 2 months now...I think xD. I wrote this article a long time ago, probably in june. That's also about 2 months ago xD.

When Asians Are Pushed to the Breaking Point

Growing up in an Asian household isn’t easy. We’re constantly examined under a microscope by society, which has formed this perception of us as humans with big brains, lack of athleticism, and very bad English. I’ll admit that we score high on our SATs and ACTs, but are we really smart? I laugh at the very idea of scientists examining our brains and concluding that we’re intelligent in technical analysis. That is not the secret of our achievements. As Colin Powell once said, “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.”

As far back as I can remember my ambitions in my adolescent life have always been: become the editor of the Trailblazer (school newspaper), graduate high school in the top 20, get into Berkeley, and become a doctor. My high school course selections are heavily loaded up on science classes and electives. Now that I’m entering 11^th grade it is a scary thought to have the future come closer. I can feel the pressure and stress from having high expectations of myself and to living up to the expectations of my parents. There are more downs than ups in my life; so many that I’ve fallen in and out of deep depressions. I am not exaggerating. These are the true facts about living in an Asian household. In fact, Asian-Americans are the highest suicide risks in the U.S. According to Cornell University’s Alma mater newsletter, out of 4,790 Cornell undergraduates surveyed in 2005, Asian-American/Asian students seriously considered or attempted suicide at higher-than-average rates. Also, 13 of the 21 Cornell student suicide victims since 1996 have been Asian or Asian-American and Asian/Asian-Americans comprise only 14% of the total Cornell student body. I cannot speak for the majority of Asians, but I can speak from my personal experience. In my humble opinion, Asians are not smarter than any other ethnicity. Our success is simply from being pushed to the breaking point under pressure and stress by our parents, which leads many of us to contemplate suicide when we are “not good enough” no matter how hard we try to please our parents. We always hope for a little bit of praise to come out of their mouths, but it never happens and it never will.
Last year, tragedy struck my family. It was not suicide, but pure stupidity on my cousin’s part to take some marijuana and mushrooms. His body overheated so he opened a window in his apartment and jumped out. When I heard the news, I broke down and cried hysterically in English class. It is because it was something I can imagine happening to myself in the future. I told my guidance counselor about this and he told me that, “Maybe he did the drugs to deal with pressure or stress from his personal life.” Sadly, this is most likely true.
In some ways, my cousin’s tragic young end has taught me to be grateful for my life because the reasons I’m still living are: him, my dreams, my friends, and Lacrosse. When I tell you that Lacrosse saved my life, I’m not joking. This game really did save my life. For me, I live for the game of Lacrosse because every time the ball hits my body as I’m trying to block a shot, it teaches me that life can sometimes be painful, but it moves on. As my friend, Maria Michalos, always says, there will always be obstacles thrown at you, but by being persistent, staying true to yourself and believing in the beauty of your dreams, life's little mishaps will unfold into a rewarding gift. In a game of Lacrosse, the rewarding gift for me is knowing that we’ve won the game and defying the stereotypes by proving that Asians can play sports. After all, the secret to success in anything is the desire to improve and to work hard, but too much work and no play pushes you to the breaking point. To my fellow Asians, I hope I’ve inspired some of you to not give up on life. Find something that makes you truly happy because there are a lot of things to live for. Live for yourself and when you give up your identity to your parents, you’re giving up on life.

Let's do this all over again.......

Well, I was beginning to tell you my story about today because when I write, it's a form of my expression. It's therapeutic. It was something that was well-thought out, but it got erased. This led me to conclude that sometime while I was eating my dinner, my dad read what I wrote on this online journal before he went to sleep.

This is somewhat similar to what I wrote before, but probably not as good because right now I'm more pissed than in that "cooling" off period when I was writing this:

I cried today. I collapsed and cried today while I was showering. This was the 1st time I've ever just broken down and cried since 5th grade. I was the new kid in my school and the welcoming party wasn't so welcoming. I remember just coming home from school and crying into my pillow. The tears kept on flowing down and down. My brother asked me, "How was school?" when he saw me crying. I'd told him that a group of girls were making fun of me because I was Asian at school. I didn't even do anything or even talk to those girls and they automatically thought I was some weirdo from Mars. Somehow when I told my brother all this stuff, he seemed to understand because he has been there already since he was 8 years older than me. That incident was six years ago. Six years ago, I swore to myself I wouldn't let ANYBODY push me down in life. Six years ago, I learned to pick myself up over and over, but that was SIX YEARS ago. Today, I committed the cardinal sin in my life and that was letting my parents get into my head. It seems like a never-ending fight that keeps building. It's SIX YEARS LATER and i'm fighting an entirely new fight on both fronts like the Germans did in World War I and World War II. Fighting on both fronts, the Germans lost both of those wars and paid dearly for the consequences because they exhausted their supplies and soldiers at an exponentially faster rate. Now, I am the Germans. I'm fighting my fight mentally against my parents and myself. This fight just keeps on wearing me down. I'm older now and my body just feels run-down, but somehow I have to keep fighting because this is the MOST important fight for my identity. You're thinking to yourself, "What is she talking about?". Let me rewind to several hours ago when I was entering the house while I was drenched with sweat from my two-mile everyday run. I was attacked by my parents. They completely took me by surprised and approached me about getting a tutor to make my PSATs scores higher. With my arrogant and stubborn self, that was an "insult" to MY pride. I know my parents think they mean it's for the best, but I KNOW I can raise my math scores higher in the PSATs and in the actual SATs myself. It's like they've LOST faith in me. Everything I DO for them is never good enough. I know I"m not the SMARTEST person in my school or in the world, which is why I NEED to work HARDER than anybody else if I want a shot at my DREAM. I even have doubts in my own dream. If you ask me why I want to be a pediatrician and no other medical specialist, I would reply that it's because I can't imagine doing any other job than helping little kids get back to health and back to their rambunctious self. Although, I keep questioning to myself, "Is that really why I want to be a pediatrician?" or "Is it for my parents?" My parents have kept pushing me about this since day one. They push, they don't encourage you. Being a doctor means everything to my parents. It means a gateway to being socially acceptable in the Asian world. It basically gives you "social status". To me, I would be the FIRST doctor in my family and maybe my parents would finally be proud of me. This is a CURSE. I'm always talking about how I want to live my own life, but I can never seem to escape my quest for my parents' approval. Will I ever be free? Two years from now, colleges will be asking me on a peice of paper, "Who is Annie?" What do I tell them if I don't even know who I am as a PERSON?

I'm so sick of people judging me just because i'm Asian. I'm really sick of seeing comments like "yellow scum", "You murdering chinese". People, there's always two side to every story. We don't know the full story of the situation in Tibet. Just because you say those things that we are like "animals" or "people who have no morals", what does that make you for saying those things? You're judgemental and someone of lesser morality. It really is hypocrisy at work.

**Also a little note, I was waiting outside for 30 minutes waiting to be let in so I can retake my Chemistry regents. As i'm standing there, I have people staring at me like "What the heck is she doing here? She's Asian". I wanted to say to them, I"M NOT STUPID OR RETARDED LIKE THEM(PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY FAILED THE TEST). I just wanted to retake it to get a better grade and if I did fail it, why would it be a suprise that an "Asian" failed at something? We all have those times where we do well below our standards. Those are the times that motivate us to "perfection".

Veronica Mars, S4E01

Episode Title: “Cross-Jurisdiction”

Spoilers: Widow's Son in the Windshield(301)

Disclaimer: “Veronica Mars” belong to CW and Rob Thomas. “Bones” belong to FOX, Hart Hanson, and Kathy Reichs.

A/N: Cross-over Season 4 pilot episode. There will be flashbacks and some of them I will leave very open-ended. The mind can come up with the resolution to the problems.
Progress: 7pg./?? pg.
Plot: The serial killing spree from "Bones" has traveled to hot, sunny, and sexy California. The question remains, is it related to Gormogon? Has the apprentice finally master the craft of cannibalism? Has the apprentice turn on the master? Will the crime-fighting trio be able to figure out the identities of the killers before another murder strike?

Scene One

(Scene fades in from black. Insert night-filter on the camera. Over-view of the busy L.A. highway. Close-up on Veronica’s black mustang. The mustang was a gift from Logan. In the background noise, the radio is playing:

This is DJ-Katz signing off on 92.3 KROCK FM, voted the best in L.A. on variety. Don’t turn that dial, we’ll be running a list of the hottest songs from the 90s. The song “Hold Her Closer” by Blessid Union of Souls starts playing.

Thoughts are racing through Veronica’s mind. Insert Narration.)

Veronica: It’s been less than a year since I’ve been out of the academy and now I’m being assigned a case every rookie dreams of having, a serial killer. Not only do I have every rookie giving me a cold look, but the media is breathing down on my neck. To make matters even worst, Seth Coulter is working this case with me and I’m the lead. Seth Coulter, my ex-boyfriend after my falling out with Piz. He’s a highly obnoxious, stubborn, hot-shot agent and not to mention, another competition in advancement. The FBI is a whole different playing field compared to the Neptune’s Sheriff Department. To stay alive in the program, you got to be able to play with the best.

(Veronica’s sidekick phone rings.)

Veronica: Mars.

Seth: Earth to Mars. Where are you?

Veronica: I’m almost home. Why?

Seth: There’s been another.

Veronica: I’ll be right there.

(Veronica curses under her breath)

Veronica: Logan is going to kill me

(Veronica dials Logan’s cell phone)

Logan: You’ve reached the Echolls’s residence.

(Insert background noise. Brian Mcknight’s song “You’re The Only One” is playing from a nearby stereo. Insert narration.)

Veronica: Either Logan gone nuts or He seriously stayed up and made a late-night dinner for us; which is not good. Knowing that your boy-friend cooked and set-up everything for hours and having to tell him that you won’t be coming home, this is officially the worst day ever.

Veronica: Logan, it’s me.

Logan: Veronica, what’s wrong? You sound shaken up.

Veronica: Rain-check on the dinner?

Logan: Another one?

Veronica: Yes. I’m sorry, Logan.

(Logan unsatisfied with the answer. He barely sees Veronica anymore.)

Logan: It’s fine. Do what you have to do.

(Drops knife into the kitchen sink. Logan hangs up. Insert Narration.)

Veronica: Things are certainly not going well at home.

(Flashback to a year ago. Insert scene of Logan’s apartment. There is no sign of a woman living there. Cut to the bedroom. Madison moans in the distance.)

Madison: Harder.

Logan: Hmmfft.

Madison: Take it things aren’t going well with FBI Barbie?

(Madison slowly sits up. Her hand moving closer to Logan. Their desires becoming one.)

Madison: That’s alright with me. You deserve better.

(Madison slowly kisses Logan’s lips and then parts her lips slowly away from him. Madison whispers to Logan’s ears.)

Madison (giggling): She always was a slut, gold-digging, bitch anyway.

(Logan outraged by Madison’s comments. He pushes Madison very hard, away from him.)

Logan (infuriated): Don’t you ever talk about Veronica like that again!

Madison: oooo, touchy. I can work with that.

(Madison wraps her arm around Logan’s neck and slowly kisses him with her luscious lip. Her buxom bosoms touches Logan’s bare-naked chest.)

Madison: There’s plenty more where that came from.

(Logan and Madison make-out. Slowly cut to the outside of the pent-house. Veronica is wondering whether or not to knock on the door or surprise Logan. Veronica looks at the time on her watch.)

Veronica: 2:30 a.m., Logan is probably asleep anyway.

(Veronica comes into the apartment, carrying her heavy PT training gear in the duffel bag marked the property of the FBI. She checks the mail on the kitchen counter. She slowly takes off her leather jacket and tosses it on a couch. Camera side-view angle shots of her moving towards the bedroom. She opens the door hoping to find Logan asleep. What she sees next is unimaginable.)

Veronica (shock): Madison

Logan looks at Veronica in those sad eyes of his. His face clearly expresses how ashamed he is in what he has done.

Logan: Veronica

Veronica (infuriated): How long has this been going on?

Logan: You don’t need to know that. Just, I love you very much.

Veronica (infuriated): I’ll ask again. How long, Logan?!

Logan (hesitant): A year after you left for the academy…..

(Madison knows what Veronica is capable. Especially after Veronica solved the mystery of who drugged her in high-school. Madison quickly gathered her clothes and starts to leave.)

Veronica: Don’t move a muscle, bitch.

Madison (condescending): I have every right to leave, officer. Just because you’re with the FBI now, Veronica, doesn’t give you the right to boss me around.

(Madison whispers to her ear.)

Madison: My daddy happens to know some very good lawyers and I can still make your life miserable.

(Madison leaves the bedroom and starts to head out of the apartment.)

Veronica (yells): Don’t get run over with karma.

(Door slams. All of Veronica’s five-feet, two-inch body wanted to go after Madison, but she had bigger problems to deal with Logan. Veronica looks at Logan.)

Veronica: If you love me so much…as you say you do, then why would you do such a thing, Logan?

(Veronica storms out. Logan follows.)

Logan: Veronica…..

(Door slams. Logan curses under his breath. He decides to chase after her down the stairs. Cut to the lobby of the building complex. Veronica is getting off the elevator and heads for the door. Over-view shot of the outside of the building complex. Insert background noises of cars and distant sirens. Veronica starts to cry, but decides against it.)

Veronica: Wallace was right. You’re a marshmallow, Veronica. God! Where’s Wallace when you need him?

(Camera-shot of the night-sky that Veronica’s been glancing at. Cut to Logan running up to her)

Logan: Veronica!

Veronica: Stay away from me, Logan!

Logan: You asked me why I did this….

(Logan catching up his breath.)

Logan: To give you a straight answer, I don’t know.

(Logan starts to stand next to her.)

Logan: I don’t know, Veronica.

(Cross-fade blur back to the present. Veronica arrives at the crime scene. She steps over the yellow crime-scene tape and past the two policemen.)

Policeman #1: Watch out now! Homicide Barbie on the scene and heading towards her boy-friend Ken.

Policemen #2: I’d be glad to tap that bitch.

(The two policemen slowly walk out of the crime scene, laughing and joking. Veronica heard their remarks, but she has bigger problems to deal with. Seth walks up to her and as they’re walking towards the body, he briefs her on the latest victim.)

Seth: Vic’s name is Andrew Linux.

Veronica: Linux…isn’t he the computer mogul of processors?

Seth: Yep, like all the other victims in California, they all have pretty successful careers.

Veronica: Coroner arriving when?

Seth: She said soon, but you know how chicks are at driving.

(Veronica gives him a quick glare, but is more focused on the case.)

Veronica: Killer leave behind another playing card?

(Seth holds up an evidence bag.)

Seth: Ace of Spades. Everything is pretty consistent with the killer’s signature.

Veronica: Victim got a family?

Seth: Wife and two kids. The youngest is five and the oldest is thirteen. His secretary said that he was working late and left around 1:30 a.m.

Veronica: How was the body found this fast? It’s only 4:15 a.m.

Seth points to a man in shaggy old clothing under custody.

Seth: Said it’s his usual alley that he hangs out at. Found the body and got a bystander to call it in to L.A.P.D’s dispatch and here we are.

Veronica: Why don’t we get that man something warm to drink, like coffee? We need to find out everything he knows. Tell CSU that they need to get his fingerprints and DNA to exclude him as a murder suspect.

Seth: Time for knocking on some doors this late?

(Veronica gives him a quick obvious look.)

Veronica: Before you do that, what’s the bystander’s name?

Seth: Dr. Temperance Brennan, an Anthropologist from the Jeffersonian Institute in Washington D.C.

Veronica: Washington D.C.? That’s a long way from home.

Seth: Here for some kind of Forensic Anthropology lecture held by a Dr. Steven Chang.

Veronica: Shouldn’t she be able to help us out a little bit while we wait for our coroner to arrive?

Seth: Said flesh isn’t her thing and she has no jurisdiction anyway, but she does seem suspicious to me.

Veronica: Suspicious?

Seth: When I got here, she was ranting about some cannibalistic stuff to an officer. We never released any press release stating that our killer was a cannibal.

Veronica pushes Seth aside and head towards Dr. Brennan, who is arguing with a police officer.

Policeman #3 (to Brennan): I can’t let you in Ma’am.

Veronica: Let me take it from here.

Policeman #3: You sure? Special Agent….Mars.

Veronica: I’ve got to talk to her anyway.

Brennan: You don’t understand, there’s a cannibalistic serial killer out there.

Veronica: You seem very sure about that, Dr. Brennan. Why?

Brennan: I’m a Forensic Anthropologist and I work for the Jeffersonian Institute. My partner, Booth, works for the FBI. We’ve been investigating these type of cases in Washington D.C.

Veronica: What do you know about these killings of yours in D.C.?

Brennan: The killer is very organized and methodical. He follows the order of tarot cards and has constructed two skeletons. One fully made from bone and the other one incomplete, indicating that there are at least more than eighteen victims. He learned his craft from a master and has passed it onto his own apprentice. Assuming that your murders are the same to mine, they would have both belonged to a secret society thought to be extinct, the Gormogons.

Veronica: You said that your partner works for the FBI, call him in and then follow me.

(Cue the opening credits of “Veronica Mars”.)

Scene Two

(Scene fades in from black. Camera shot of the crime-scene. Detectives and FBI agents scouring every inch of the scene to find any evidence to convict the killer. Everyone busy with their own area of expertise that the scene becomes chaotic. Meanwhile, in a dark rusty corvette, the killer sits and watches every move like a predator towards a prey.)

Apprentice: Those insolent, incompetent fools! They think they can catch me.

(Gormogon’s apprentice laughs.)

Apprentice: They think my master did this?? It is an outrage to my work! My master is not capable of this. I have become the master. With each kill I learn and become better and better. No one can stop me. Not even that blonde dike, Veronica Mars, or that smart-ass scientist, Dr. Brennan. They shall both pay! I will make them regret for their mistake of assuming my master did this. No, I am better than my master, Gormogon.

(Lighting is very dark. Close-up on the scarred face. The apprentice laughs. Cut to a flashback.)

Gormogon approaches the apprentice at the River Styx, the only bar in a small town called Neptune, California.

Gormogon: You from out of town?

Apprentice: Yeah. You?

Gormogon: Yup, staying here for the night and then I’m going to do some hunting up in the woods.

Apprentice (intrigued): Hunting? You hunt?

Gormogon: Big game. Not for show, but to satisfy my hunger. Nothing better like a man hunting for his food. Just like the old days.

Apprentice: What do you hunt?

Gormogon (grins): Humans.

Apprentice (laughs): You’re kidding right?

Gormogon (smiles): Don’t believe me?

Apprentice: You know how many hunters have said that just to impress me?

Gormogon: You should come with me tomorrow then. Going to drive out of this little god-forsaken shit-hole they called the suburbs.

Apprentice: When you leaving?

Gormogon: When the sun rises.

Apprentice: I’ll come.

Gormogon: You will? Drinks are on me then.

Scene glows out onto the next scene. Camera shot of the sun rise, the road, and the trees. A blue broken-down Bronco is driving down the empty road and comes to a screeching halt at a dirt lot for hunters. Two people get out of the car with their faces turned away from the camera. Close-up of the man in a blue hat wearing aviator shades to cover his eyes.

Gormogon (to the Apprentice): We’ll go out to about 100 yards.

Apprentice: Fine with me.

Gormogon loads bullets into his polished Winchester rifle. The Apprentice grabs his AR-15 rifle and starts running.

Gormogon (yells): The hunt is on!

Apprentice: Whoooheeee!!

Gormogon follows his companion.

Cut to the two man stepping lightly on the twigs on the ground.

Apprentice (whispers): I see a big buck over there.

Gormogon: I’m not after no deer. See the orange in the distance.

Apprentice: Another hunter, so what?

Gormogon: I was talking about shooting humans.

Gormogon quickly lines up his shot and shoots the hunter with his rifle.

Apprentice: Are you freaking crazy man?

Gormogon (grins): This will be our little secret.

Apprentice: Don’t you think I would tell the authorities?

Gormogon: You don’t have the guts to. Besides, you would never tell on me. We’re family.

Apprentice: I don’t have any family. My family died….

Gormogon: in a fire. Your mother was hanged during the fire, with her bosoms cut off and sent to your father, who was working late on a case. Two weeks later, your father committed suicide and the police never solved the murder of your mother and brother.

Apprentice: How did you…..

Gormogon: I’m your brother. I made it out of the fire, but ran away from home because Dad was………and those scars you have on your face, they came from the fire.

(Cross-fade blur back to the present.)

Apprentice (whispers): I’ll never forget that first kill or what you taught me, Gormogon. Time to move onto the next step in my plan.

(The black rusty corvette drives off into the night. Scene fades out and in from black.. Camera-shot of the FBI’s field office in Los Angeles. Cut to Benjamin Bradley’s office. The man is an experienced field-officer that has been sitting behind the desk for ten years now and he is Veronica’s boss. He’s sitting at his desk and popping an aspirin to help ease the migraine. The press conference of the latest killing by the serial killer starts in two hours. Veronica rushes into the office and shuts the door. Dr. Brennan waits outside, while Veronica sorts things out with her boss. The boss closes the blinds.)

Bradley: Jesus, more than eighteen victims according to the doctor?

Veronica: Yes, eighteen that we know of on the eastern coast. Sir, her partner works with the FBI. Think this could be a joint investigation? The more people we have working on this, the faster we can get this guy.

Bradley: Are you sure it’s the same guy?

Veronica: I don’t know. She said her killer kills in the order of the tarot cards and that the recent murders are linked to a trip to Turkey. I’m not sure because our guy’s pattern seem pretty random so far.

Bradley: Find the link between the victims and our killer. For now, we work this as an individual killer.

Veronica: That’s just it. These aren’t individual killings. The doctor said that they belong to a secret society called the Gormogons.

Bradley: The Gormogons?

Veronica: We have some agents checking out on the history of the society.

Bradley: Find the answers quickly. I’ve got a god-damn press conference and I don’t need more questions than answers.

Veronica: Sir, what about her partner? Seeley Booth? She said he’s on a plane here.

Bradley: You look like you need all the help you can get, special agent. I handed this case to you over all the senior agents and the rookies because I trust you. I have faith in your abilities. Don’t let me down. This isn’t some case that you’re used to from your private investigating days in high school and college. This is an actual, real, adrenaline-pumping case. Don’t blow it. They don’t come around too often.

(Veronica exits the office. Seth catches up with her. Brennan is talking on the cell phone.)

Seth: Looks like we’re going to be pulling an all-nighter shift.

Veronica: What do you got?

Seth: The secretary checks out and so does the homeless man. We have no suspects so far in this case.

Veronica (sarcasm): Really? I didn’t know that.

Veronica (to Brennan): You coming with us doctor?

(Cut to the dark and cold FBI Autopsy Room. Brennan looks at the lab with disdain. Veronica notices.)

Veronica: She may not be much, but not everyone can work in a billion-dollar lab.

Veronica (to Avery): Av, please tell me some good news.

Avery: There’s nothing new to tell. Our killer followed the same M.O., except the brain is missing and it looks like the UNSUB took out the brain through drilling process known as trepanation.

Veronica: Like Dahmer?

Avery: Very much. Except a cannibalistic version, I’m running tox screens now, but I doubt we find anything. I’ll know more later once I examine the body closely.

Avery (to Brennan): You must be Dr. Temperance Brennan. I’m a big fan of your work and your books.

(Avery shakes Dr. Brennan’s hand. Veronica’s cell phone rings.)

Veronica (to Brennan): Excuse me, I have to take this.

(Veronica walks out.)

Veronica: Mars

Mac: It’s Mac and we’ve got some very good news. You might want to come down here.

Veronica: We?

Mac: Yeah, Seth and I.

Veronica: Hold on, I’m coming.

Veronica (to Brennan): I’ve read about your team’s work on the Howard Epps case. Bring in whoever you want to help. The more information we have on the victims, the more closer we’ll be to finding a link.

(Veronica exits from the scene)

Avery: Want to help me with the body, doc?

(Avery starts sawing. Cut to a shot of Veronica walking to Mac’s computer room.)

Veronica: Hey, what do you got?

Mac (grins): Hey yourself.

Seth: Well, I dug deeper and I found a newspaper article about a cannibalistic killing spree. Turns out, this isn’t the first time that something like this has happened.

(Veronica looks closely at the computer screen.)

Veronica: 2002….Dr. Steven Niles, arrested for 46 murders.

Seth: His form of murdering was eating his victims. Cannibalism.

Veronica: Did you check who the lead agent on that was?

Seth: A Dr. Christian Valente.

Veronica: Where have I heard that name before……….?

Mac: Maybe, because I told you about him many times.

(Veronica looks at Mac.)

Veronica: Is he some computer guy?

Mac (annoyed): He isn’t just some computer guy. He’s the legend. He owns a company called Xtech, a leading company in nano and holographic technology. Valente owns several charities that help benefit Africans living in war-torn regions of Africa.

Seth: Right….He also used to work for the FBI. Raised and born in Vegas. Graduated from UNLV with a forensics degree and later got a doctorate degree. After college, he went to work for the FBI’s field office here.

Seth (scoffs): Became the head of the FBI’s CSU when he was only 30. High arrest record and was on his way to becoming the Deputy of the FBI. Close ties with the Chief of the FBI.

Mac: Wonder why he went into computers…..

Veronica: The case….

Seth: After he solved the case of the century, he committed to seeing his shrink for a year. Gotta have been something wrong with him after a case like that.

Veronica: Where is he now?

Seth: Still living in Los Angeles, California.

Veronica: Alright, we’ll pay him a visit tomorrow morning.

Seth: See you later, then.

(Veronica looks at him weirdly)

Veronica: Got a date?

Seth: With a hot-smoking blonde…no offense….

Veronica: None taken, she must be on drugs to accept a date from you…no offense.

Seth (sarcastically): Haha, you’ve got jokes now.

(Seth exits. Leaving Mac and Veronica in the room.)

Mac: You want to talk about it, V?

(Veronica shaken by this question.)

Veronica: About what?

Mac: Wallace.

*Author Notes: My newest update in a seemingly long time. Sorry to keep you waiting! My computer finally broke and I was without a computer for practically a whole week and now I have a new computer. Yay!! Won’t be writing another one for a long time since school is about to begin soon. I was very discouraged from writing because I lost everything I’ve written in this scene, so I had to write as much as I can remember. It’s not that funny like I would have wanted it to be. You only get the muse once and then it goes away.

Scene 5

(Scene fades in from black. Birds are chirping in the background. The lake is sparkling with a crystal blue color under the blazing red-orange sun. Booth’s strong and muscular arms are holding Brennan tightly as they continue to sleep on top of the blue blanket laid in the grass. Booth slowly gets up from bed and starts to stretch. Brennan gets up slowly with Booth and jumps from behind. Everyone else starts to see what the commotion is. “Love of My Life” by Brian McKnight starts to play. A montage of Booth and Brennan smiling, laughing, kissing and looking at each other starts to begin. In the background, the rest of the Squint Squad are packing up the camping equipment for the hike back down.)

Angela: Are you guys done kissing yet?

(No answer. Booth and Brennan continue kissing. Zack is watching intensely.)

Zack: This is how two people have sexual interaction?
Jack: Dude! It’s called making out.

(Zack is really watching intensely; While, Booth and Brennan are kissing each other like there’s no tomorrow.)

Zach: I wish I knew how this was done. Then I might be with Naomi from Paleontology; instead of, being denied by her.
Jack: It’s called being dumped. These things can’t be taught. You learn from experience.
(Jack is now snuggling closer to Angela. Jack touches Angela’s silky hair and moves his hand down to Angela’s hips. He moves closer to kiss Angela on the neck many times. Angela turns around and starts to put her hands on Jack’s shoulder aggressively and moves in closer. They start kissing. Jack pulls off his t-shirt. The two couples are kissing with an overview of the lake below. Zack and Parker watch helplessly far away. They are both sitting on a log. Music pauses.)

Parker: Is this what they mean about going fishing?
Zack: I have no idea.

(Music starts up again. The volume of the music increases. Moment is glowed out. Music is still continuing. Shot is replaced with everyone making their final steps down the hiking trail. They are finally on ground level with the lake. Booth and Jack set down the cooler; while, Angela and Brennan set up the camping chairs. The boys get their fishing rods out of the black equipment bag.)

Booth: Here, you cast off the line like this.
Parker: I know how to do it, daddy.

(Booth chuckles to himself. He can’t believe his little boy is growing up so fast.)

Booth: Okay, buddy. I’ll leave you to it.

(Cut to Jack and Zack.)

Jack: You need to put some bait on that hook before you cast off. It’s unbelievable that you never went fishing.
Zack: There’s no point to it.
Jack: It’s one of many life lessons.
Zack: Correction, It was. Centuries ago, fishing was an important in everyday lives. Present-day speaking, it’s a primitive form of getting food.
Jack: What if you were stuck on an isolated island and had to know how to catch food in order to survive?
Zack: The chances of a person being stranded on an island are one-million to zero. It’s impossible….like that thing where people guess numbers on a piece of paper…..
Jack: The lottery. Hypothetically speaking, Zack.
Zack: Hypothetically speaking, I would have to know how to catchy food. In actual reality, this method of getting food is out-dated.
Jack: Fishing is out-dated??

(Jack and Zack get into a friendly argument about fishing. Cut to Angela, Brennan and Booth. They are sitting on a blanket and are playing snog bull----.)

Booth: Three Aces.
Brennan: Bull----
Booth: Read them and weep.
Angela: Oh….he’s got you, sweetie.

(Brennan takes the pile of cards and has to kiss Booth.)

Bones (jokingly): You are an….. insufferable bastard….

(Suddenly, gun shots rings out in the middle of nowhere.)

Booth: Everyone, get down!

(Booth looks around to find out where the shots were fired. He starts to run in the direction of the shot, but hears Angela sobbing. He sees Brennan is hit and reaches for his cell phone to call a helicopter to take her to the hospital. The moment keeps fading in and out of black with a heart pounding sound for each fade.)

Booth: No…….No…………No……..
Booth (angrily): This wasn’t suppose to happen….
Angela (sobbing): She just………

(Jack is comforting Angela. Booth is applying pressure to Brennan’s wound. He looks at her face and tears start welling up. Parker is staying close to Angela. Zack looks on helplessly.)

Booth: How the heck would anyone know that we were in these god---- woods camping??
Angela: The whole Jeffersonian knew that we were on a camping trip. The newspaper did an article on Brennan’s best-selling book….ever since she became famous….the Jeffersonian had to step up security, but…she told them she was going to take a break from writing and her publicist made an announcement that she was going camping….supposedly… it was to let the world see more of her personal life…good publicity and all…..according to her publicist.

(The helicopter finally arrives and lands. Cut to an over-view shot of the whole situation. Camera slowly zooms out. Moment is fade out to black and then fade in from black. The Squint Squad are waiting patiently; While, Booth dispatched a FBI crime-scene unit hoping to find some clues. He also called Caroline Julian to get a list of cases that Brennan has testified in.)

Booth: I need them fast, Caroline.
Julian: Hmrph, Isn’t everyone in a rush now-a-days? You know what you need to do is to stop and smell the roses.
Booth (aggravated): Just get them to me as soon as you can.

(A doctor comes out from the Operation Room. Everyone gets up to ask questions. Booth disconnects his calls.)

Angela: How is she?
Doctor: She’s stable for now….
Angela (relieved): Thank God!
Doctor: But…we may need to monitor her over-night for a few days. The bullet was removed from her chest cavity.
Booth: Can I have the bullet?
Doctor: I’m sorry, but who are you?
Angela: Oh, he works for the FBI. He’s a friend.

(Booth shows the doctor his badge.)

Doctor: You will have to see that nurse about that bullet.
Booth: Thank you, doc. May I see her?
Doctor: She needs to rest.
Booth: I don’t need to talk to her yet.
Doctor: Then, I don’t see any reason why you can’t.

(“Slow Down” by Ben Jelen starts to play. Booth enters the room. The rest of the Squint Squad decide to wait outside out of respect for Booth. Booth takes a chair and sits down right next to Brennan’s hospital bed. We hear the beeping of the machines. Booth clasps his hands together to say a prayer to God. Then, his hand takes Brennan’s hand. Seconds, minutes, and hours pass by. A Brennan’s elegant moments runs through Booth’s mind. The final montage fades out to grey. Back to the hospital room, Booth finally gets up and kisses Brennan’s hand. He starts to walk out and the door closes. Camera-shot works up Brennan’s body. Cut to a Zoom-in shot of her face. Scene fades out to black. Music fades along.)

Extra

*I had this joke sticker on my computer stuck in my head. “He who fishes in other men’s well, will catch crabs”~ Confucius. Yeah, it was my brother’s sticker.

*I wanted a Veronica-Mars style ending where you have this playful banter and then all of the sudden, something horrific happens and you're still left with questions at the end. Rob Thomas (the creator, not the singer from Matchbox Twenty) is a genius!

Scene four

(Commercials stop. Scene fades in from black. Cut to Angela’s tent. She has just started to wake up and checks the time on her watch. The time is 6:45 a.m.; she decides to let Parker sleep for a little while. Angela goes to wake everyone up else first, but when she reaches Brennan’s tent, she is smirking.)

Angela: Wake up!

(Angela exits the tent. Booth is the first one to gets up, but Brennan is still sleeping. Booth tries to move, but notices that Brennan is really close to him and her hands are on his chest. Brennan finally wakes up, but is still groggy because of Booth’s snores. Booth says nothing about this yet.)

Bones (tired): What time is it?

(Booth looks at his digital watch)

Booth: 6:45 a.m.

(Brennan groans and mumbles, but finally gets out of the tent. Booth follows. He is carrying her knapsack and his camping bag. Booth and Brennan are walking side by side towards the rest of the group who are making their way up the hiking trail. )

Bones: You know you snore.

Booth: I do not snore.

Bones: Yes you do, I’m surprised you didn’t wake up everyone else.

(Booth starts to say something, but Brennan starts to move forward towards Angela. Booth goes to bond with his kid.)

Bones: So, what do we have for breakfast?

Angela: Like you want to talk about that….how about you and Booth?

Bones (puzzled): Me and Booth?

Angela: Don’t try to play coy with me, Brennan.

Bones (puzzled): What? I’m not Ange.

Angela: I saw you two this morning when I got up to wake up everyone else.

Bones: We had to share a tent. Of course, you saw us. Remember?

Angela: Come on sweetie, you’re still not mad about that little fiasco right?

Bones: What do you think? I had to sleep with Mister….arrrgh….He snores heavily.

Angela (shocked): He does?

Bones: Did I not say that?

Angela (insinuating): Well, you looked like you were having a good time.

Bones: Ange! What do you mean by that?

Angela (scoffs): Oh come on Brennan, stop denying it. I’ve been saying this since day one, you guys definitely have some chemistry and by chemistry…..oh yeah…man was there a lot of chemistry going on yesterday when you guys went to sleep.

Bones: What are you saying, Ange? Are we talking about the same thing? Nothing happened between us yesterday.

Angela (playful): Okay, sweetie. How do you explain the fact that you were practically on top of him?

Bones (annoyed): You’re making that up, Ange. I was not on top of him.

Angela (playful): Maybe not, but your hands were definitely all over chest.

Bones: They were not, Ange!

(Angela laughs, but Brennan is clearly frustrated by her friend’s antics. Cut to Booth and Parker.)

Booth: So….uh….how do you like auntie Angie, buddy?

Parker (happy): She’s so much fun to hang out with.

Booth: Can’t be more fun than me though right?

(Booth playfully punches Parker lightly on the shoulder.)

Parker: No. No one can be more fun than you dad!!

Parker (glee): Do you like Dr. Brennan, dad?

Booth (serious): Listen bud, I know we talked about this, but Dr. Brennan is just a really good friend and that’s all.

Parker: Auntie Angela said that you and Dr. Brennan aren’t just friends.

Booth (curious): Really now? Is that what Angela said?

Parker: Yup! She said that Dr. Brennan and you are boyfriend and girlfriend.

Booth: Is that what she said? Because I can assure you, bud, that we’re just friends that like each other, but can’t really fall in love.

Parker: Awww, that’s too bad. I really like hanging out with Dr. Brennan. She’s a nice person.

Booth (playful): She is, isn’t she?

(Silence follows. All we can hear are the crunching of the autumn leaves on the ground as they hike up the trail.)

Parker (curious): Dad….

Booth: Yeah bud?

Parker: Why is it complicated?

Booth: Love?

Parker: No…not that…but your relationship with Dr. Brennan. Auntie Angie said that if two people truly love each other….no matter what….then, they should be together and not let anything else get in the way of love.

Booth: Huh, I haven’t really thought of it that way.

Parker: So…..do you love her dad?

Booth: Parker, it’s complicated. It’s not really my decision. It’s a decision that both of us have to make and…..

(Booth is getting tired about this question.)

Booth (sighs): Right now….we’ll just see where it will take us…

Parker (disappointed): Oh…..

(Cut to Jack and Zack. They have lagged behind the rest of the group.)

Zack: We’re lost aren’t we?

Jack: Dude! We’re not lost….all we got to do is just look for some trail markers; which means we’ll be right back on track.

Zack: Technically speaking, we’re lost.

Jack: You’re not helping. Just look for some markers.

Zack: Errrrmm…..

Jack: Not now Zack!

Zack: Sssss-sss-nake!!!!

(Jack turns around to see.)

Jack: Relax. It’s only a corn snake. They’re non-venomous.

(Jack and Zack go back to looking for trail markers. Moment is glowed out and it is quickly replaced with a nightfall shot. Cut to Angela, Brennan, Booth and Parker.)

Bones: I think we should rest here for tonight.

Angela: Thank god!

(Angela is exhausted from the long hike.)

Bones: Where are Zack and Hodgins?

Angela: I wouldn’t worry much about them. Hodgins is an expert camper, as long as Zack sticks close to Hodgins, they’re going to be fine.

Angela: Now, where’s the food?

Bones: Zack and Hodgins were carrying the food.

Angela: Uggh, well all I can say is that they better be here soon.

Booth: Why don’t we split up into teams and search for them?

Angela: And you call yourself a boy-scout?

Booth: Don’t you think they’re lost?

Angela: Of course, I think they’re lost, but the most important rule of camping is to wait several hours for them; in case, they do return back here.

Angela: Now, if you excuse me, I’m going to get some firewood.

(Angela exits the scene with Parker. Booth is sitting on top of a big rock. He’s looking at the view of the lake. Brennan starts to come over.)

Bones: Booth, we have to talk.

Booth: About what?

Bones: Yesterday.

Booth: If you’re here to start about the snoring again, I do not snore.

Bones: No, not that. Angela said I was sleeping really close to you and my hands were on your chest. Is that why you have been avoiding me today?

Booth: Listen Bones, I didn’t mind it. Sure, it bothered me, but let’s just say a seven-year old boy and Angela talked some sense into me.

Bones: Angela has been hinting it a lot lately.

(Bones looks at Booth and smiles. Booth and Brennan start to kiss each other. Enter Zack, Jack, and Angela.)

Zack: We’re back!!

Angela: Zack, can’t you see what they’re doing?

Jack: Whoa, will you guys get a room?

Parker (excited): Daddy and Dr. Brennan sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.

(Booth and Brennan stop. They suddenly realize everyone else is here now. They stumbled to get up.)

Booth: That will not happen again, Parker.

Bones: I’ll go help you set up the camp-fire Angela!

(Booth starts to sit down right next to his son.)

Booth: Listen buddy, what happened right there…..was just in the spur-of-the-moment.

Parker (excited): No, it wasn’t!! I’ve seen mommy and Drew kissing like that before. If you’re trying to tell me what mommy was trying to tell me…when she saw I was there…then forget it! You’re in love with Dr. Brennan. I understand that very much, daddy.

Booth (serious): No, you don’t. Not yet.

(Parker is thinking in his head.)

Parker: Here we go again. Why does he still keep treating me like a five year-old? I’m growing up.

Parker (playful): Sure, whatever you say, dad.

(Parker goes off to play with Hodgins and Zack; who are easily amused by a bug race. Cut to Angela and Brennan around the fire.)

Angela: You know sweetie, you’re going to have to talk to me sooner or later.

Bones: Ange, Booth has a kid. It makes things a bit more complicated and we’re partners.

Angela (sigh): Honey, please don’t make the same mistakes you did with Sully. It’s obvious that you were scared of committing to Sully because you still have an affection for Booth. You guys are the perfect couple, minus the bickering.
Bones (sigh): God, Angela…..you know how much I hate psychology and you know that I’m……

Bones (hesitates): It’s not that I’m scared of falling in love, but…..what happens if the man that I fall in love with…leaves me….

(Brennan is still heart-broken about the time when her parents went missing and Russ left her when she was 15.)

Angela: Honey, Booth loves you. He confessed to Parker…..and Parker admires you. All you have to do is confess to Booth that you love him too…….to give him some assurance.

Bones: It’s not easy, Ange. What would happen five or ten years now? We could get a divorce and then Parker…….

Bones: Parker would just be in the middle….again. He’s a kid….He needs to have a stable family.

Angela: Brennan, I’m not suggesting you get married for god sakes…

Bones: No, but anthropologically speaking….most serious boyfriend-girlfriend relationships often leads to marriage and…..statistically speaking….41 percent of men who married….ends up with a divorce.

Angela: Honey, do you ever just stop thinking about the possibilities and just go with the flow of things? Life is full of possibilities and surprises.

(Booth starts to come over.)

Bones (whisper): Oh God, Ange! He’s coming over. What do I do?

Booth: Hey….uh…..You and I need to talk.

Angela (smirking): I’ll be over there if you need me…..but you won’t need me.

(Angela goes over to Jack and Parker. Jack and Zack are arguing about the bug race. They put Parker in the middle of their silly argument, since he was watching the race too.)

Booth: Listen, Bones……

Bones: Booth….I have something important I want to tell you…

Booth: Bones, I need to tell you something important too…..

(They both say it at the same time.)

Booth/Bones: I love you.

Booth (surprised): Wow…..

Bones: Look, I’m sorry about the bickering……It’s just……what I do when things get too close for comfort……

Booth: I know, Bones……I know…..

(Booth touches Brennan’s face and goes in for a kiss. Brennan kisses back and ultimately they never let go. The song "If I Can't Change" by Bob Mould starts to play. Cut to everyone else for their reactions. Many of them are in shock and awe. Cut back to Booth and Brennan kissing. Moment is glowed out and replaced with a night-shot around the camp-fire. Everyone else is asleep, except for Booth and Brennan who are awake still. They are lying under a blanket outside. Booth has stripped his shirt because it is way too hot and humid. He’s half-naked now. Booth and Brennan are looking at the luscious blue lake. Booth looks at Brennan. The song " If I Can't Change" by Bob Mould starts to quiet down. )

Booth: Beautiful night, isn’t it?

(Brennan chuckles.)

Brennan: It sure is….

(Brennan lies back with her head on Booth’s broad muscular shoulder. Her hands are on Booth’s bare chest. Booth is smiling a little bit now. Several hours later, they both drift asleep. "If I Can't Change" by Bob Mould starts playing again. Booth’s snores echoes into the wilderness. Scene fades out to back. Music fades out.)

* I was going to make Zack fall into a small puddle of water, but didn't want to come off as evil =).

*Aww, father-son bonding time. Yay!!

*Relax ladies, haven’t you ever seen David Boreanaz half-naked?

*Sorry to disappoint the Semperance shippers, but nothing too sensitive for the eyes to read will ever happen in this story. I’m trying to keep it PG-13 and that means no “S” word. Kissing and half-nakedness is allowed though.

*Hmm, this was suppose to be my last scene because I’ve got to get started on my summer required reading for my classes next year. You can tell I’m a big procrastinator? Right? ^.^

* Next Scene: Go more in-depth on the Squint Squad’s reaction. Focus on the hike back down to the lake and fishing on their trip.
*Some trivia for you:
-Corn snakes are definitely non-venomeous and are indigenous in Maryland(Washington D.C. is located there).
-41 percent of men did get a divorce, but that is out-dated data. The data was from 2001 because I couldn't find a divorce percent for 2006, the most recent year.

*Author Notes: Feedback welcome! I decided to do something extra at the end of the script to keep my script format fresh. Love it, Hate it. I need your feedback on this too! Remember, the reader is just as important as the writer!

Scene three

(Commercials stop. Scene fades in from black. Camera shot of the Squint Squad unpacking the camping equipment from the trunk of the car.)
Brennan is wearing a white blouse with blue jeans and is sporting a tiny silver dolphin necklace. Booth has on a black AC/DC t-shirt with blue Wrangler jeans and he is sporting some light brown aviators shades to protect his eyes from the blazing sun. Angela is wearing a flowery blouse with blue jeans and is wearing a set of white pearl necklace that Hodgins gave her. Hodgins is wearing a blue polo and a beige khakis with sandals. Zack is wearing a suit in 80 degree weather…for whatever reason.
(Brennan is having trouble lifting the cooler out of the truck. In the background, Angela and Hodgins are setting up the tents. Booth is ordering Zack to get some firewood with Parker before nightfall. Booth sees Brennan struggling and is walking up towards her.)

Booth: Need some help Bones?

Bones: No, I don ‘t. I can do it myself.

Booth (chuckles): Doesn’t look like you can.

Bones (angrily): Here, You want to do it? Be my guest.

(Booth cracks his knuckles.)

Booth (straining from the weight of the cooler): Did I offend you Bones?

Bones: I don’t get it….

Booth: Don’t get what?

Bones: Why you’re so bossy all the time….

Booth (smiling): Isn’t it obvious? I spend most of my time around people that don’t speak English.

Bones (grinning): Are you saying you’re intimidated Booth?

Booth (defiant): Who me? No way! I’m not intimidated by a couple of….Squints…

(Angela and Jack finish setting up the tent. They overheard Bones and Booth bickering.)

Angela (disgusted): Look at them.

Jack (smiles): I’m glad we’re not like them.

(Jack moves closer to give Angela a kiss. His hand touches Angela’s hips and moves upward on her back.)

Angela: Hmmmm…I love it when you talk dirty.

(Camera close-up on Angela and Jack’s kissing and Booth and Brennan seemed to have made up their differences for now in the background. Camera shot of that and we see the lake nearby, the water starts to glow and the whole moment eventually glowed out. The moment is quickly replaced by a night shot and the Squint Squad and Parker are having a good time near the bonfire.)
Booth and Brennan are sitting next to each other on those portable camping chairs. Angela and Parker are singing around the camp-fire. Zack is roasting marshmallows with Jack.

Jack: For someone who’s a genius, you’re having a hard time of not burning your marshmallows. You do know they’re supposed to be edible?

Zack(annoyed, doesn’t know Jack is joking): If I can just figure out the intensity of the fire, then I will know the perfect time of when to rotate my marshmallow.

(Cut to Angela and Parker. They are both sitting on a log and are roasting marshmallows. Long silence until Angela tries to make a conversation.)

Angela: So….Parker…what do you want to be when you grow up?

Parker: I don’t know….

(Silence.)

Parker: Maybe what you do auntie Angie.

Angela (surprised): Me???

Parker: Yeah, drawing people’s faces.

(Booth and Brennan are nearby and they hear Parker’s response.)

Bones(chuckles): Your kid wants to be a squint.

Booth: I heard.

Bones: Don’t you have something against squints?

Booth: You know, Bones…things change…

Booth (sighs): If that’s what Parker wants to do, then it’s his life to….you know……choose what he wants to be.

(Bones and Booth looks at each other with those deep watery eyes.)

Bones: Are you speaking from experience?

(Booth picks up a rock and skips it down the lake.)

Booth: Heh….

Booth (softly): You know, when I was 18, Bones….I signed up to be an army ranger…my father….he never approved of my life choices…even with my choice of joining the bureau.

Bones: Do you ever talk to your father?

Booth: We lost touch a…..few years back.

(Silence follows. Cicadas and cricket sounds are in the background.)

Booth: So…ah……How are things with you and your father?

Bones: I’ve seen him lately…We talked…..mainly about my mother…

Booth: Hmm…that’s good that you’re talking with him…..

(After Booth says this, he puts his hand on Brennan’s shoulder. Brennan is still thinking about something.)

Booth: It’s good for the soul Bones….

Bones: You know I don’t believe in any of that.

Booth: You have to believe in something Bones….

Booth: I’m going to go to sleep.

(Brennan looks up at Booth at a slight angle.)

Bones: Good-Night Booth.

(Booth has already started walking to the tents, but waves his hand. He notices there are only three tents. Cut to Angela and Parker laughing.)

Angela: There. The S’mores are done.

(Angela chuckles. Parker speaks with his mouth full.)

Parker: hmm…they’re so chocolate-ly and marshmallow-ly.

Angela (laughs): Here, you got something on your face sweetie.

(Angela grabs a napkin nearby and wipes Parker’s face; which, is covered in chocolate. As she is doing this, Booth storms up walking to Angela. Angela sees this.)

Angela: Ut oh…looks like we got trouble…

(Angela quickly defends herself.)

Angela: Hey, if your kid wasn’t suppose to have chocolate, I didn’t know. He never told me.

Booth: Look, It’s not that.

(Booth points to the tents.)

Booth: Am I imagining things? I only see three tents.

Angela (grins): Good job! You can count.

Booth: Where am I suppose to sleep?

Angela: With Brennan….

(Booth looks at her angrily. Angela is enjoying this, but she wipes the smirk off her face as soon as she sees Brennan walking up to them.)

Booth(to Brennan): She said there were enough tents from the Jeffersonian.

Angela: Well, I lied.

(Brennan out-raged)

Bones: You what???

Angela: Hey, this is for your own good, honey.

Bones: Ange!! Booth and I are partners.

Angela: yeah sweetie, but you’re also partners in a love relationship. It’s obvious that you guys need to work some “issues” out.

Booth: Who’s idea was it to go camping anyway?

Angela: Mine.

Bones: Ange!! You told me it was Hodgin’s idea.

Booth: Yeah and she lied….Again!!!

Booth (frustrated): Unbelievable!

Bones: Can’t I share a tent with you Ange?

Angela(smirking): Nope, sorry! I’m taken by this cutie here.

(Angela points to Parker. Jack and Zack are apparently eavesdropping. They notice Brennan looking at one of them.)

Zack: I-I-I’ll share a…..

Jack: Nope, sorry! Zack is sharing a tent with me!

Zack (puzzled): I am?

Jack: Remember? Male-bonding.

Zack: Sorry Dr. Brennan….

Bones (sigh): It’s okay Zack. It’s not your fault.

(Brennan gives Angela a look.)

Angela: Hey! Look, Why don’t we all just go to sleep and forget about this? We have to get up early to hike tomorrow.

(Parker suddenly speaks up.)

Parker (glee): Dr. Brennan is sleeping with my daddy!!

(Parker says this repeatedly in a child-like sing-song voice. Everyone, except Booth and Brennan, laughs. Booth and Brennan are walking away toward their tent, but they leave muttering comments about Angela and the camping trip under their breath. Everyone else retires to their tents a little bit later. Cut to the inside of Booth and Brennan’s tent.)
The inside of the tent has two very simple blue sleeping bags and Brennan’s beige knapsack is next to Booth’s odd green-colored camping bag. The tent is not very wide.
(Booth is heavily snoring. Brennan is trying to sleep over Booth’s heavy snoring. She covers her ears with the pillow, hoping to minimize the sound of Booth’s snores.)

Bones: Booth……

(No response. Brennan tries again, only louder.)

Bones: Booth!!!!

(No response. She tries repeatedly, but all her attempts are futile because Booth has fallen fast asleep. She will have to cope with the pillow trick. She drifts off to sleep several hours later not realizing she is cuddling closer to Booth with her hands on Booth’s chest. Scene fades out to black. Cue the commercials.)

EXTRA!!! EXTRA!!!!(comments I wrote for each moment in order in my notebook.)

*Booth is clearly the alpha-male in this scenario(as always on BONES)

*Yes siree, the whole crew(except Cam, hate her) will be roughing it. What could possibly go wrong?

*Hey! Got to keep it PG-13 ^.^.

*I feel like I should cue the song “Talk dirty to me” by Poison.

*I can just imagine this scene on television and what it would sound like…the great acting that is TJ Thyne.

*Oooooo, I love it when Zack talks technical.

*Haha, loving Angela at the moment.

*Hey Booth! No sense in denying your love for Bones hehe. After all, you two are already in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship.

*Relax, there won’t be no “Brokeback Mountain” thing going on in this story…or maybe there will be in a sequel…^.^.

*That’s all for this scene. I bet I got you wondering what’s going to happen next and what will go wrong on the hike…hmmmm should be a lot of fun to write the next scene.

Summary: The Squint Squad, Booth, and Parker go on a camping/fishing trip.

Progress: This will be finish whenever I have my muse.

*Author Notes: E.S. Posthumus will be mentioned here. For those of you who don’t know, E.S. Posthumus is a band, but they don’t sing any lyrics. It’s like classical music for rock.

Scene Two

(Opening credits stop. Scene fades in. Camera shot of the car from above and then cut to everyone inside the car having a good time and laughing. )

Angela: Here, pop this cd in.

(Brennan reads the name of the band on the cd.)

Bones: The Beach Boys….who are they?

Angela (shocked): Honey, please tell me you’re kidding.

Angela: They’re like the second best band next to the Beatles. Just put it in.

(Brennan puts the cd in. The song “Fun Fun Fun” by the Beach Boys starts playing.)

“Well she got her daddy’s car
And she cruised through the hamburger stand now
Seems she forgot all about the library
Like she told her old man now
And with the radio blasting
Goes cruising just as fast as she can now
And she’ll have fun fun fun
til her daddy takes the t-bird away…..”

(Brennan starts drumming the beat of the music with her hands on the dashboard. Parker starts to speak up over the music.)

Parker: Who is this by auntie Angie?

Angela(playful): Booth, you are so depriving your kid. He doesn’t even know who the Beach Boys are.

(Booth doesn’t respond to that comment. Instead, he is keeping his eyes on the road. He’s

obviously nervous about something. Silence follows, the song is still playing. Zack is annoyed by this music.)

Zack: Will you please turn this music off? I’m trying to read here.

(Everyone looks at him weirdly. Booth looks at him for a second and then focuses back on the road.)

Jack: Dude! The point of a road trip is to relax and have fun.

Zack: Well, I would like to read.

(Jack gets annoyed and hits Zack’s book onto the floor. Music resumes. )

Jack: There, Just relax and enjoy the road mix.

(Jack lets out a big sigh of relief and turns to his side to go to sleep. Zack picks up his book and resumes reading, but is still annoyed by the music that he puts his book down and listens to his mp3 player. E.S. Posthumus is playing.)

Angela: What are you drawing there sweetie?

Parker: I’m drawing…..a dog.

Angela: What’s his name?

Parker: I don’t know….

Angela: I think you should name him Milky Way. No?

(Parker shakes his head horizontally back and forth)

Parker: No way!!

Angela: Why not? I think that’s a pretty good name for a beagle.

(Parker makes the same puzzle face that Booth made in the end of the “Pilot” episode of “Bones”)

Parker: A beagle?

(Angela and Brennan chuckle at this. Booth notices this.)

Booth: What’s so funny?

Angela: Like father, like son.

Booth: What….??

Bones: I think you past the camping grounds.

Booth: I know what I’m doing and don’t back-seat drive.

Bones: I’m not back-seat driving. I’m in the front.

(Booth mutters something under his breath.)

Bones: What?

Booth: Nothing.

(Brennan touches the GPS system)

Booth (frustrated): Don’t touch that. In fact, don’t mess up anything in my car.

Bones: What…..? I just want to know if we past it or not.

Booth: We’re not going to get lost.

Bones: How do you know?

Booth(annoyed): Will you just trust me here Bones?

(Jack is tossing and turning on both sides.)

Jack: Will both of you please stop fighting? I’m trying to get some sleep here!

Booth(angrily): Fine with me.

(The rest of the car trip was in total silence until they finally arrived to their destination. Camera-shot above from the car up to the sky and then descends back down slowly showing the bright green Douglas- fir trees and the camping grounds. Scene fades out. Cue the Commercials.)

*Author Notes: This is an AU story; which means, this story is skipped 2 years ahead. No case is involved in this one because I don’t really have a lot of time to write it and solve it. This is purely a hilarious story about the Squint Squad’s camping trip. I write all my fan-fiction stories like a script because I think it helps puts the readers into the story and makes them picture what the set looks like and what the actors would do. In general, it makes everything seem more realistic.

Scene I

(Scene fades in to black)
The Jeffersonian lab is dimly lit; some parts of the lab are pitch-dark. Nobody is working yet because it is only 5 a.m. . The camera slowly makes its way towards Booth and Brennan who are caught bickering with each other. Their “sexual” tensions have been more noticeable lately because of the whole “boyfriend-girlfriend” commitment.

Bones: Why did you let him go?
Booth: Bones, I can only hold him for 48 hours. Unless, you had brought me this evidence earlier!
Bones: It’s not my fault you lost him because you let him go.
Booth: I didn’t lose him, he disappeared!
Bones: Well, he wouldn’t have been able to disappear if you hadn’t let him go in the first place!
Booth: How’s this my fault?
Bones: Arrgh, you are an unbearable, self-righteous…man!

(Angela interrupts)

Angela: Are you two lovebirds done arguing yet?
Bones: We’re not arguing. We’re just discussing a case.
Angela: Uh Huh, You guys were definitely arguing.

(Brennan decides not to protest Angela’s statement when she sees Parker running up towards them)

Parker has on a blue France national jersey with the name Zidane written on it. His baggy beige cargo pants match his shirt. Parker is only seven, but is an avid football fan and loves to draw.

Parker: Look what I drew daddy!

(Booth looks at the picture, but doesn’t know he is squinting to see it.)

Booth (with excitement): Wow! That’s really great bud! You know what daddy likes to draw?

(Parker guesses very easily about this question)

Parker: Stick figures?
Booth (laughs): That’s the only thing daddy knows how to draw.

(Booth turns to Bones)

Bones: That’s a really impressive anime drawing Parker. Why don’t you go show it to auntie Angie? I’m sure she would like to see it too.

(Parker walks toward Angela. The two of them immediately converse about the drawing. Meanwhile, Brennan heads towards her office for relief, but Booth follows her. )

Booth: Anime Bones??
Bones: Yeah, It’s what we refer to as a Japanese style of motion-picture animation. In Japan, it is use to refer to all forms of animation around the world. It began in the 20th century when Japanese filmmakers were experimenting with animation techniques…..

(Booth interjects abruptly)

Booth (annoyed): Yeah, I know what anime is Bones. Do you have to be so technical all the time?

(Booth lets out a huge sigh, Brennan is sitting at her desk with her eyes wandering around aimlessly.)

(Brennan ponders something in her head)

Brennan (infuriated): Why can’t Booth just accept me? This is who I am. I don’t think this relationship will ever work out….no matter what Angela says...

Booth: Bones? Are you there?

(Bones stops thinking)

Bones: What did you say?
Booth (serious): Listen, we need to talk.
Bones (angrily): What is there to talk about Booth?

Booth: Just listen to what I have to say. I know you’re angry and I’m sorry for the way I’ve been….

(Booth hesitates to find the words)

Bones: Booth….
Booth: Let me finish what I have to say Bones….It’s not that I don’t love you…I really do, but our relationship is complicated….and what if I make the same mistakes I did last time when I was dating Cam…..?

(Silence follows, the only sound happening in the sterile office are the packing of Brennan’s necessities for the camping trip)

Bones: Well, A wise man once said “How will we ever know if it doesn’t work out between two people if we never try it?”
Booth: Bones….
Bones: Booth….
Booth (grins): Guy Hug……?

(Bones and Booth start to smile. Bones falls into Booth’s arm for a while; until Angela interrupts them.)

Angela (smiling): Are you two done with whatever you’re doing? We’ve got a camping trip to get started .

(Bones and Booth look startled)

Booth: Right, yeah…I’ll go get the car started.

(Booth nervously reaches for the car keys and starts to leave, but stops for a second near the door.)

Booth: If you ever tell anyone this…
Angela (smiling): Right….yeah…I totally got it.

(Booth heads out)

Angela: So how was it?
Bones: What? We didn’t do anything.
Angela (playful): Uh Huh…you guys definitely did something Honey.
Bones: What?? No!!
(Angela smirking a little bit, she’s got that face on)

Bones (defiantly): No!! We didn’t do anything.

Bones: We’re partners Ange! We just had a guy hug.

(Angela doesn’t believe Brennan. She’s just teasing Brennan right now)

Bones(sternly): Just a hug.

Angela: Did I say anything to suggest otherwise? I meant the “hug” Brennan.

Bones(serious): Just so you know, nothing big will ever happen between Booth and me. Booth and I aren’t regular couples. For God Sakes! Which, I only use as an expression….Booth and I are partners. We work together and see each other everyday. Our boyfriend-girlfriend relationship can only go so far because we see each other professionally.
Angela: Honey, look at me and Hodgins. We work together and still manage to
have…absolutely incredible sex. I say go have sex with Booth, who knows....maybe you guys will do it when we’re out in the woods.
Bones: Ange!!!

(Hodgins steps in the office and interrupts.)

Hodgins: Did you pack my vials Angela?
Angela: I don’t think you’re going to have much time in the woods collect soil samples or bugs.
Hodgins(smells Angela’s hair): Me likes what the lady is saying.
Angela(playfully): Hodgins, Stop it!!
Angela: We really got to go to the car. Booth is probably waiting for us.
Bones: Go ahead; I got to do something quick.

(Angela and Jack exits the room, Brennan slowly gets up from her desk and puts on her dark black wooly jacket. She looks at the picture on her desk. It is a picture of her family at the beach. Mother and daughter side-by-side and father and son on the other side together.)

(Camera cuts to the scene outside of Brennan’s office. We see all the Squints carrying loads of stuff they don’t really need into Booth’s van. Enter Jack and Zack outside the Jeffersonian’s lab and onto the green slush field near where Booth parked his black 4 x 4 car. )

Jack: You mean you never went camping before?
Zack: I never saw the point of camping. All sweaty and I’m scared of bug bites and infection.

Jack: Dude! You never punched anyone, never had ice cream and candy, and never went to a carnival. What fun did you have as a kid?
Zack (hesitates): I had fun. I read…mostly…science stuff…
Jack: That’s it. You, me and Booth are going to be doing a lot of manly stuff on this trip.

(Booth has been standing near the driver’s seat of the car the whole time)

Booth: There she is! Finally, about time you finished Bones.
Bones: Sorry everybody.
Jack: That’s the last of the equipment.

(Jack slams the trunk and everyone piles into the car. Booth is the driver and Brennan is sitting up front with Booth. Angela and Parker are sitting in the middle. Jack and Zack are in the back. Booth’s truck starts and they’re off onto the road. Scene fades out. Cue the opening credits.)

Invisible Children

Invisible Children started out as a documentary film about the twenty year war that is happening over in Uganda. 67,871 people joined together around the nation on April 28^th, 2007 to help support this cause. The money collected from this charity goes to help rebuilding African lives in Northern Uganda by building schools and wells.

20,000 children were displaced in their camps. In other words, they were abducted by their own government and forced to fight. They used to have a village. It may not be much, but it was something to call a home. When Hurricane Katrina struck, people living in New Orleans have experienced what it is like to be displaced. Now imagine what it is like to not have a place you can call home for ten years.

Events like these make us grateful for the lives that we have. As human beings, we should reach out and help others. Please donate money to the Invisible Children Fund at: https://secure.invisiblechildren.com/donate/ . The money can be as little as a dollar. We may not think a dollar is a lot of money, but it is money to help send relief to the children of Uganda. Let’s join the cause around the world to speak out for those that can't!
